Payment Card Services at IU

Indiana University has been accepting payment cards (credit cards) for receivables (tuition, housing, athletics, ticket sales, etc.) in excess of 20 years. Annual sales have increased over $130 million dollars from 1989 to 2006. There are currently over 182 departments accepting payment cards within the University's eight campuses. With the use of the Internet, the program continues to grow.

All payment card processing at IU must be approved by the Office of the Treasurer. The role of Payment Card Services is to administer the Payment Card program and to act as facilitator. The University holds a system-wide contract that binds us to using one payment card processor, thereby necessitating a systematic process. University Policy VI-110 uniformly defines the requirements of all parties involved.

Indiana University has been accepting payment cards (credit cards) securely over the Internet for over 5 years. The Office of the Treasurer is pleased to announce that we have 55 departments who now accept web-based payment card transactions. Visit the Web-Based Payments section as well as the university’s e-Business site to learn more.
